TEACHING ARTIST

My name is Rylee Lohr-Blossey.  I began ballet at the age of two in a small school in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I’ve had the opportunity to train under many renowned instructors. When I was 13, I began my pre-professional training. This training consisted of a more rigorous schedule and more intense training. Additionally, I spent multiple summers dancing at The Boston Ballet School. At this school, I had the opportunity to train under many famous current and former professional ballet dancers.

At the age of 16, I moved away from home to train full-time. I studied under the direction of former Pacific Northwest Ballet professionals, Phillip Otto and Rachel Butler. At Huntsville Ballet, I trained six days a week to focus on the next step in my ballet career. I had an unfortunate injury and the dream of dancing professionally came to an end.

I’ve had so many beautiful opportunities in my life due to this art form. Recently, I received my BFA in Interior Architecture and will be going on to receive a Masters of Architecture.  Although I may not be doing ballet full-time anymore, it will always hold the place in my heart as my first passion and love.
